PETALING JAYA : Barisan Nasional candidates for the next general election will be vetted not only by the Anti-Corruption Agency but also by the police, Inland Revenue Board and the Insolvency Department.
Selangor BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo said the state BN leadership had sent the names of all possible candidates to the four agencies to ensure they were "problem-free".
"So, if there are people saying that Selangor candidates are not clean, that is not true," he said, adding that all the names nominated were qualified.
To qualify, candidates must not possess a record even for petty crimes, must be free from bankruptcy and must be a taxpayer.
Asked how he weeded out elected representatives to make way for new blood, Khir, who is Selangor menteri besar, said poor performances were a factor.

wargamalaysia : Isn't this an abuse of government agencies a.k.a taxpayer's money? Nak report kemana? ACA? Haprak! Mahkamah? Entahlah! Kemana lagi kita sebagai rakyat malaysia hendak mengadu? Wakil Rakyat? Lagi haprak!
